Small tonnage electric overhead travelling cranes are often used in machinery manufacturing, assembly, warehouses and other places. The tonnage is generally less than 50 tons, but the working intensity is no less than that of large tonnage lifting equipment.

EOT-kran, det fulle navnet er elektrisk traverskran, er en lett kran. EOT-kranen er sammensatt av en løftemekanisme, en vognbetjeningsmekanisme og en vognramme. Løftemekanismen inkluderer motor, brems, reduksjon, trommel, trinseblokk osv. Motoren driver trommelen til å rotere gjennom reduksjonsgiret, slik at ståltauet vikles rundt trommelen eller slippes fra trommelen for å løfte tunge gjenstander.

Single girder eot crane is consisting of the main beam, end beam, electric hoist, travelling mechanism, hand controller, and electrical control system. The electric hoist can move horizontally on the rail fitted under a beam. The electric overhead travelling crane holds many characters of light structure, easy to install and maintain, which is typically used for either manufacturing or maintenance applications where efficiency or downtime are critical factors, for instance, plants, warehouses, or material stocks.

Each contactor and the main and auxiliary contacts of the relay should be checked regularly. If any singeing occurs, they should be smoothed with fine sandpaper. If severe, they should be replaced.
