Cranes are often used in ports, metallurgy, warehouses, factories, etc. So what is the difference between warehouse overhead cranes and other cranes?

Structure and design:

Warehouse bridge crane: This type of crane is usually mounted on top of a warehouse or industrial plant and uses a bridge-type structure that spans over the work area. It is supported by two cross beams and uses a rail system to move across the bridge and is equipped with a lifting mechanism that can move up and down under the cross beams.

Ordinary cranes: Ordinary cranes can have a variety of designs and structures, such as tower cranes, crawler cranes, truck cranes, etc. They are usually stand-alone pieces of machinery that can be used on different sites and projects.

Scope of application:

Warehouse overhead crane: Mainly used in indoor places such as warehouses, factories or manufacturing industries for material handling and lifting operations in limited spaces. They are typically used for lifting and carrying lighter weight items within the work area.

Ordinary cranes: Ordinary cranes have a wider range of applications and can lift and carry heavy materials in outdoor environments such as construction sites, ports, docks, and mining sites. They are often able to handle larger loads and higher working heights.

Features and Flexibility:

Warehouse bridge crane: This type of crane typically has a small working envelope and limited movement capabilities. They are suitable for precise material handling tasks in confined spaces and can be lifted vertically under beams.

Regular cranes: Regular cranes are more versatile in terms of functionality and flexibility. They can have features such as swivel, telescopic arms, adjustable height and mobility to suit different work requirements and environments.

Generally speaking, warehouse bridge cranes are suitable for indoor environments and are used for handling and lifting of small materials. Ordinary cranes are more suitable for outdoor environments and can handle larger loads and a wider working range. Which crane you choose depends on the specific application needs and work environment.
