Daily Maintenance of Gantry Crane

(1) Clean the dust and oil on the cab and the outer surface of the fuselage; clean them thoroughly once a week;
(2) Check whether the brake clearance is appropriate;
(3) Check whether the keys and connecting bolts on the coupling are tight, and check whether the fixing bolts of the reduction box are loose or broken;
(4) Check whether the electric bell and various safety devices are reliable;
(5) Check the wear of brake pads and wire ropes;
(6) Check whether the contacts of the controller are in close contact and whether the motor carbon brush is worn.

First-level Maintenance (once a month)

(1) Add oil to rolling bearings;
(2) Check the insulation of all electrical equipment;
(3) Whether the control panel, protection plate, controller, resistor, each terminal block, and wiring screws are tightened.
(4) Check the oil amount of the reducer, the oil amount and lubrication condition of the brake rolling electromagnet.
(5) Check whether the transmission noise, running speed, and working current are normal.

Second Level Maintenance (quarterly)

(1) Check the wear and deformation of the rails; check the wear and tear of the wheels.
(2) Check the wear and deformation of the hook, especially the change in opening degree.
(3) Check and adjust the installation and alignment of motors and reduction gearboxes of large and small cars, winches and other transmission mechanisms.
(4) Check the wear of the wire rope and the fixation on the drum.

Lubrication of Industry Cranes

All parts that have a dynamic fit between the shaft and the hole as well as mechanical parts with friction surfaces must be lubricated according to the five fixed lubrication diagrams. Medium and small gantry cranes generally use distributed lubrication. During lubrication, oil guns or oil marks are used to inject oil into each lubrication point. The distribution of lubrication points is:

(1) Each gear coupling;

(2) Each reducer;

(3) Motor bearings at each point;

(4) Each bearing box and bearing seat;

(5) Each hinge point on the brake;

(6) Each movable part of the long-stroke braking electromagnet and hydraulic braking electromagnet;

(7) Wire rope;

(8) Fix both ends of the pulley shaft (on the small frame);

(9) Thrust bearings at both ends of the hook pulley shaft and under the hook nut;

(10) Bearings for cable drums, cable pulleys, and suspended power supply devices;

Lubrication Precautions:

(1) Lubricating materials must be kept clean;
(2) Frequently check the sealing condition of the lubrication system;
(3) For lubrication points with higher temperatures, the number of lubrication times should be increased accordingly;
(4) Sodium-based grease should not be used in humid situations, as it will become ineffective due to its strong water absorption;
(5) For rotating parts without oil injection points, oil suction pots should be used to inject oil into each rotating gap regularly to reduce mechanical wear and corrosion;

Self-inspection, Shift handover and Patrol inspection

Operators should carry out inspections and maintenance work for each shift according to daily maintenance requirements, fill in operation records, shift handover records, and do a good job in shift handover work.

In addition to conducting inspections at least once per shift according to daily maintenance requirements, electricians and fitters on duty will also conduct primary and secondary maintenance work with operators once a month and every six months, and fill in inspection records and shift handover records truthfully and conscientiously.

Under normal circumstances, paint work is carried out in conjunction with overhaul, but it should be inspected at least once a year. If the rust is serious and is estimated to have affected the strength or working performance, a rust paint plan should be proposed immediately for treatment.
